I went South on Sunday to drill some rims...Guacamole says his wife will watch the kids and the dog, let's ride 1st.
Well, I'm not one to turn down such an invitation....
The Niner is down for repairs but the Fatty has been fun to rail on the dirt so....Fat it was!!

The we got back to Guacamole's Hacienda and washed the rigs and talked
of hanging Golden Bull Balls and Gun Racks off the back of since these
things are Monster Truck's....Vroom, Vroom...
Then we popped some Left Hand Milk Stouts and set to work...
The original Surly Rolling Darryl Rims, undrilled...heavy, no colored rim strip tape, boring.

Nearly finished. Next a deburring tool was used to remove the sharp edges and clean up the "looks" of the holes.

Another Day of Freshies occurred..
It began with some riding of pavement
But it quickly gave way to fresh snow and wheelies..
Then the mining relics came and past
Onward and upward...somewhere above 10,000 ft
some contouring before the downhill begins
Times getting near, I have to pick up my kids from school in an hour or so. 200 yards of post-hole a bike...made me question but then we started finding the goods again
and again
and again
till the world became bliss all around
and we found our own secret Nirvana
and even discovered the "Turn of Doom" is ridable by Fat Bike

Finding Freshies at Kenosha Pass
I heard a rumor of Kenosha Pass being ridable by Fat Bike just a few short weeks ago...
What we discovered yesterday was a fresh blanket of 3-6 inches and fresh tracks to made
Kenosha Pass but so much different then remembered...
and then the views started getting big
and bigger
Then Huge!
Then we lost the trail due to snow drifts and unpacked snow....
So we headed back East
A final Guacamole got of me launching the rocks...such a Fat Bike Moment
